Can children use LINC computers?

Yes. However, no direct supervision is provided to children and guarantors need to make sure children under 18 abide by LINC Tasmania's conditions of use of the internet.

Do I need to book?

It is best to book. You can book online for Devonport, Glenorchy, Hobart, Kingston and Rosny LINCs. You will need your LINC Tasmania library card number.   To book a computer at any other LINC site, contact your local LINC.  

What are the rules for using public computers?

You are expected to comply with LINC Tasmania's conditions of use of the internet.

Does LINC Tasmania offer WiFi access?

No, not currently.

Can I check my email at LINC Tasmania?

Yes, but it is best to book a computer.

May I use a disk, CD or USB flashdrive with LINC Tasmania computers?

Yes.

May I type a document with word-processing software?

Yes, if the software is installed on your local PCs. Check with your local LINC for availability.

Can I submit my etax form online from LINC Tasmania?

No, not at present.

While using your computers I sometimes cannot access websites due to your web filter. How can I access a blocked website?

LINC Tasmania computers use filtering software in line with the Department of Education's web filtering policy.
