Scottsdale LINC

Scottsdale LINC is part of LINC Tasmania, bringing together Adult Education, the State Library of Tasmania, Online Access Centres and the Tasmanian Archive and Heritage Office (TAHO).

Scottsdale LINC is co-located with Service Tasmania, Dorset Education and Training, Centrelink and Centacare.

The LINC offers a wide range of facilities and services in one convenient location, including a library, state-of-the-art community learning spaces, literacy support services, meeting rooms and free computer and online access. You can also access more than 550 government services through the Service Tasmania shop.


Dorset Education and Training provides a Vocational Educational and Training (VET) program. The courses lead to the achievement of your TCE and/or nationally recognised vocational qualifications, a unique opportunity to study in your local area.

Scottsdale LINC supports the greater northern area with satellite Libraries and Online Access Centres at Bridport and Ringarooma and Online Access Centres at Winnaleah and Derby.

Scottsdale LINC Services

• Library borrowing and reservations.  Materials in a variety of formats, including videos and CDs
• Free weekly Storytime and Rock & Rhyme sessions and activities for children
• Adult and family literacy program-contact our local literacy coordinators
• Research resources – to link Tasmanians with information from around the world.  There are books, journals, newspapers, eresources and more – in your local LINC or library and online, plus support to help you find what you need.
• Access to Tasmanian Archive and Heritage resources
• Community learning enquiries and enrolments: including computer courses
• Access to computers and the internet, plus help to develop IT skills. It is best to book, and you can book online.
• Free WiFi service for anyone with a wireless enabled device
