The LINC Tasmania story, so far
Late 2005 – HuonLINC opens as a fully integrated service.
- October 2006 – the State Library of Tasmania, the Archives Office of Tasmania, Adult Education and online access centres are brought together as the Community Knowledge Network to integrate their services.
- 2008 – the Tasmanian Archive and Heritage Office (TAHO) is established to provide a single entry point into everything ‘Tasmanian’: social history, government records and cultural artefacts.
- July 2009 – seven urban LINCs are established based on the success of the HuonLINC integrated model and the single one-stop shop service delivery outlets of the Community Knowledge Network.
- Late 2009 – the Community Knowledge Network becomes LINC Tasmania.
- 2010 - LINC Tasmania begins to implement important parts of the Tasmanian Adult Literacy Action Plan through programs and support for Tasmanians to improve their literacy skills.
LINC Tasmania is well placed to support and assist clients as social change, global economic conditions, industry adjustments and technology impact on the day-to-day lives of Tasmanians now and into the future.
