One to one and group learning opportunities

Learning opportunities are offered on a one to one basis and in groups depending on the activity. You might also get assistance from a mentor or a small study circle. We match the support to individuals. Talk to staff at your local LINC about your particular needs.

Computing courses

Computing 4 Me - Get Started with the Computer, Take it Slowly, Cruising with the Computer.
Low cost 2 hour sessions to get you started, including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, email, PowerPoint, using the internet, music from the net to you, Facebook and Skype.

E-learn - Units from Certificate 1 in Information Technology

Build your computing skills with a free course offered in partnership with TasTAFE. You can start online with support from staff in your local LINC or online access centre and gain some units from a recognised qualification. 

Courses to gain qualifications

If you want a recognised qualification, LINC Tasmania offers some accredited courses in partnership with training organisations.  Certificates include Business Administration, Community Services, Retail, and Information Technology.  Options vary so ask your local LINC today.

Support to return to learning

Returning to learning can be hard. Take the gentle first step with us - we can prepare you for further study and give you an idea of what is needed in the workplace.   This includes getting ready for work programs, volunteering opportunities, help with reading, writing or maths.

Being a volunteer to get work experience

You can learn new skills with LINC Tasmania by being a volunteer mentor for other learners and  helping prepare or deliver programs.  Talk to your nearest LINC staff member.

Leisure courses to learn a new hobby or passion

Enrol in our LearnXpress/Adult Education program to pursue a hobby or interest, learn something new or nurture your creative side.  Topics include Art & Craft, Fitness & Wellbeing, Home, Lifestyle & DIY, Languages, Sport & Recreation.   Please note LearnXpress programs have a fee which is payable on enrolment.  

English Conversation Group

You can practise your English in a relaxed and friendly environment. We welcome all new English-speakers and you can practise conversation and discussion of different topics. We have participants from many different countries and it's a great way of meeting new friends. You can also find out about other related community groups and services.

Get ahead with Technology

Need to know how to get the best out of your new smart phone or how to use Facebook? Feeling left behind with computers? Not sure what an iPad is or an eBook reader? How do you get those digital photos off your camera? Talk to your nearest LINC staff member to find out what courses are available.

MAST Boat Licence

Would you like help to get your boat licence? This program is designed to assist people to get a boat licence. The program sessions cover the theory and practice of safe boat handling and one to one learning support is available to help you read and understand the questions and do the  test.
