Bartramia Mossmaniana

Leading botanical artist Lauren Black’s exhibition Splendidus Muscorum – Botanical artworks of the mosses and liverworts of Tasmania is on display in the Allport Library and Museum of Fine Arts until the 20th February 2012.

Splendidus Muscorum brings together artist and botanist to offer a fascinating journey into the intriguing world of Tasmania’s mosses and liverworts. The works of art reveal not only the botanical wonders of these little-known plants but also some fascinating stories and history. The exhibition also includes rare books and archival records from the Tasmanian Archive and Heritage Office.

Lauren Black brings to her work exceptional skills both as an artist and as a botanist. The exhibition is free and will be open until the end of February. We welcome everyone to come and see this wonderful collection of work. Find location and opening hours here
