Microfilm copies of Tasmanian birth, death, and marriage registration records, the originals of which are held by the Tasmanian Archive and Heritage Office, have been made available to a number of public institutions and family history organisations around Australia to increase public accessibility. The records cover the period 1803 to 1899, and include relevant church records up to the start of official government registration in December 1838, and the formal, official records from then onwards.
