The Gould Awards

Location: Allport Library and Museum of Fine Arts

The Awards will be presented at a public ceremony h​​eld in the Allport Library and Museum of Fine Arts (Ground floor, 91 Murray St Hobart). The winning sketchbooks will be displayed at the Allport Library and Museum of Fine Arts for a period of time after the awards are announced. 

The awards are sponsored by Tasmanian artists, organisations and businesses. The winners of each award will have the opportunity to meet with a professional working in their field of interest.

 

The awards are presented in categories:

  • Art Award for Most Skilled Craftsperson ($100)
  • Science Award for Most Observant Naturalist ($100)  
  • English Award for Most Creative Writer ($100)
  • Art Award for Most Talented Artist ($100)
  • History Award for Most Meticulous Biographer ($100)
  • Digital Technologies Award for Most Astonishing Designer ($100)
  • Gould Award for Most Eccentric Genius (tba)

 

During the 12 months preceding the closing date of 28 October 2016, sketchbooks may be entered in the following categories:

  • Year 5-6 English
  • Year 5-6 Science
  • Year 5-6 History
  • Year 5-6 Visual Arts
  • Year 5-6 Digital Technologies
  • Year 5-6 Overall 

 

 Conditions of entry

  • Each student may enter 1 sketchbook only.
  • Schools asked to forward a maximum of 6 sketchbooks.
  • Physical sketchbooks as well as digital eBooks may be submitted. ​​​​​​​
