Every year schools and libraries celebrate Australian children's literature during Book Week.
Book Week brings children, young people and books together!
It is also a time to celebrate the talented authors and illustrators who create the books we love.
The theme for 2017 is
Escape to everywhere, featuring artwork by talented Australian children's illustrator,
Freya Blackwood.
A big part of Book Week is the Book of the Year Awards run by the
Children's Book Council of Australia (CBCA).
The winners in each category will be announced on Friday 18 August, you can see the shorlist below.
All the shortlisted titles can be borrowed from our collection.
Many of our LINCs and libraries will be holding special Book Week events and activities, find out what's on at your
closest LINC location.
