Expressions of Interest

Applications are invited for a writer in residence in the prison.

LINC Tasmania is running a grant funded Writer in Residence program. This is a chance for a writer to spend time in the prison to understand the challenges faced by inmates. The writer will develop a project with inmates who are working on their literacy. LINC Tasmania will show case work produced by the inmates and the writer.

The residency will run from the end of September till December. The writer will spend 2 days per week in the prison for a total of 30 days. The Justice LINC Literacy Co-ordinator, based in the prison, will coordinate and support the project. The residency is open to writers with an established writing practice. We will consider applications from writers in all genres . We encourage writers of graphic novels to apply.

Expressions of interest are due 1 September 2017.

We will interview shortlisted applicants in early September. The successful applicant will start in mid-late September. LINC Tasmania will screen potential candidates to ensure suitability to work in the prison.
