About our literacy services

We have 23 Literacy Coordinators located around the state whose role is to provide literacy support for young people and adults.

Literacy Coordinators ​support and manage trained volunteer literacy tutors who work with learners on a one-to-one basis or in small groups. This service is free and can help with:​

  • reading
  • writing
  • oral communication​
  • learning
  • numeracy​

and includes support for:

  • ​getting a driver's licence
  • improving literacy skills for work
  • applying for a job
  • taking a course​

Some of these Activities and programs include:

  • ​English conversation classes
  • Computing 4 Me
  • E-learning
  • First Gear
  • MAST Boat Licence
