Getting started – Road to IELTS

Road to IELTS online resource can help you improve your English and prepare you for the International English Language Test - general version.

Library members can access Road to IELTS through computers at any library site, or through your own computer or tablet device for FREE 24 hours a day.  Not a member? Join! It's free.

Setting up a Road to IELTS account

To use Road to IELTS on computers or tablet devices, first set up an account

  • Enter the login page on your computer or computer at a library site
  • Enter your library membership number and password
  • Create a new Road to IELTS account by entering your email address and a password at the login page

Getting started with Road to IELTS Apps

  • Set up a new account first on your computer or computer at LINC
  • Download the Android​ or iPad app

Using Road to IELTS

  • Login
  • Click on one of the 4 skill areas then click Starting Out
  • Get free tips, advice and study guides here

Road to IELTS allows you to

  • Practice IELTS listening tasks under timed conditions
  • View sample videos of speaking tests, highlighting good practice
  • Develop vocabulary and techniques for writing tasks 1 and 2
  • Work on authentic texts for the reading test as in the real exam
  • Develop vocabulary in topic areas commonly used in the IELTS exam
